Collision Course

Good Rugby League players are able to play on both sides of the ball, as in both in attack and defense. For many young players, they enjoy having the ball in their hands to attack, however, don't have the same enthusiasm to tackle. If this is the case, this is the course for you.

What do I expect?

The course is structured so that common faults are addressed early before individual faults are corrected. Lack of, or poor, footwork is often the reason why young players miss tackles so this is an emphasis throughout the course.

Players perfect their individual tackle technique before moving on to look at their role in a two or three man tackle. Often coaches move past this stage too soon and a player's deficiencies can be masked by tackling in numbers.

Pad work is used early on before moving to opposed drills to test the success of what the players have learnt.

This course can be adapted for any age or gender.

What are the benefits?

  • Improved confidence
  • Improved footwork
  • Safer tackle technique
  • Understand their role in a 2 or 3 man tackle
  • Better team player

When is the next course?

The next course starts on the 23rd of March, 2025 at Kirkham Oval, Camden. The course runs for four weeks with limited places.
